Our story begins back in 1946 when Morris Palmer founded a humble service shop in North Ferrisburgh. Having honed his skills as a mechanic in the army in the Philippines, Morris brought a wealth of expertise to his craft, graduating in the top 6 of his class. Alongside him was his beloved wife, Eleanor, whose warm presence and friendly demeanor made their shop a cornerstone of the community.
In 1951, Morris's vision took shape as he constructed our current location in North Ferrisburgh. Palmer's Garage was born, and began serving customers all along Route 7 from Burlington to Bennington. Alongside the garage, Eleanor opened a bustling general store that quickly became a local favorite. Renowned for its wide array of goods, Eleanor's store was affectionately known for having everything you could need—except for beer!
Today, Palmer's Garage continues to thrive under the stewardship of the third generation of Palmer's and Hoehl's. With a steadfast commitment to our roots, we proudly uphold Morris and Eleanor's legacy, offering affordable auto repair & restoration quotes to customers of all generations.
